In non‑woven fabric and wool textile industrial production, the carding process determines the flatness and density consistency of primary fiber webs. The doffer roller, also called small carding roller, is one of the key functional assemblies of carding machinery. Distinct from large‑size main carding cylinders, it is designed with compact outer diameter and micro‑angle needle teeth, and runs at comparatively low surface velocity. This special structural feature enables the roller to collect loosened combed fibers and stack them into complete even fiber layers, laying foundations for subsequent fiber stripping and stable material transfer.
 
The running speed of the doffer roller acts as an important adjustable production parameter. Proper speed increase can effectively raise overall workshop output. Nevertheless, excessive rotational velocity will break the balance of carding conditions, damage fiber uniformity, and bring quality risks to finished non‑woven and textile products.
 
Its actual processing capability is more comprehensive than simple fiber stripping and conveyance. Within a conventional single‑doffer carding setup, only 35%‑48% of combed fibers will be peeled off and transported outward in one full rotation. The remaining fiber materials flow back to the main cylinder for repeated carding and remixing. The cyclic material circulation between doffer roller and main cylinder realizes continuous fiber homogenization, greatly restraining fiber clustering and local density difference, and creating favorable conditions for manufacturing high‑quality fiber webs.
 
For high‑standard manufacturing projects with strict requirements for web uniformity and large‑volume output, double‑doffer combined layouts are extensively applied. Two independent fiber webs produced by synchronously‑operated doffer rollers are fully compounded and integrated. This processing mode further optimizes the comprehensive homogeneity of fiber webs, lowers defect occurrence probability and lifts line throughput. Such flexible structural options can satisfy diversified carding requirements for various raw materials and product grades.
All self‑developed doffer roller products adopt high‑purity high‑quality steel for forging, which delivers outstanding structural rigidity, anti‑abrasion property and stable mechanical performance to adapt to long‑duration continuous industrial operation. The product provides mainstream standard specifications of Ø492 mm and Ø550 mm. Meanwhile, non‑standard diameters and working lengths can be customized according to different carding machine models and on‑site production parameters.

Such strict tolerance standards eliminate mechanical vibration generated during high‑speed carding, avoiding fiber‑web deformation, thickness deviation and surface blemishes triggered by unstable roller rotation.
