Common Ceramic Roller Problems

Roller Marks:
Visible marks on tempered glass may be related to roller deposits, surface wear or changing roller conditions. However, the roller should always be checked together with furnace settings, glass quality and the overall production process.

Unexpected Roller Breakage:
A broken ceramic roller can stop production and create additional maintenance work. After replacing it, the key question should be: Why did it fail? Checking temperature conditions, installation, alignment and the roller position can help prevent repeated failures.

Short Service Life:
If rollers are wearing out faster than before, compare recent replacement records. Changes in production volume, glass types, furnace conditions or maintenance procedures may provide useful clues.

Alignment and Glass Movement:
Even a correctly manufactured roller can cause problems if installation or alignment is incorrect. Uneven roller positioning may affect glass movement, stability and tracking through the furnace.

Look for Patterns, Not Just Failures

If the same furnace position repeatedly causes roller problems, don't simply replace the roller again. Check the installation, drive connection, alignment and local operating conditions.

Good maintenance records should include roller position, operating time, glass type, surface condition and any unusual production issues. Over time, these records can reveal patterns that a single failure cannot.
