Grooved Press Roll Basis Information
Compared with ordinary press rolls, the grooved press roll offers superior dehydration with lower linear pressure and increased rubber layer thickness.
This design reduces the middle height of the grooved roller, preventing uneven water content at the paper edges and minimizing ribbed channel formation.
Proper orientation of the blanket and wet paper during operation is critical. At the press outlet, the wet paper should separate from the blanket immediately, and the blanket should detach from the grooved roller promptly to prevent moisture transfer back to the blanket and paper sheet.
Operational maintenance includes keeping the grooves clean to prevent blockages, ensuring proper water drainage from grooves, and using a soft doctor blade to remove high-pressure water from grooves to the roll surface.
