Eddy Current Separator for Recovering Aluminium from TV Housing Regrind
Product Description:
This eddy current separator is purpose-built for recovering non-ferrous metals from incinerator bottom ash generated by waste-to-energy plants that process electronic waste. The machine features a heavy-duty frame constructed from 8 mm steel plate with a sacrificial wear liner that can be replaced after extended use. The rotor speed is adjustable from 800 to 4000 RPM lower than typical e-waste applications due to the abrasive nature of ash material. The working width of 1200 mm processes 8 to 15 tons per hour of bottom ash with particle sizes from 5 mm to 50 mm. A 11 kW motor drives the system using 380V 50Hz three-phase power. The belt is 10 mm thick heavy-duty rubber with a chevron profile and steel cord reinforcement for puncture resistance. The frame is painted in RAL 7032 pebble gray with a textured coating that hides wear marks. A manual splitter baffle with locking pins allows operators to set the separation point for varying ash compositions. The feed chute includes a water spray bar to control dust during operation. This machine is typically installed after a jaw crusher and before a wet gravity separator in IBA processing lines.
Product Introduction
This Eddy Current Separator (ECS) is an advanced sorting system designed to automatically eject non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, zinc, brass) from mixed solid waste streams. Built for continuous operation in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) facilities, Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) recovery lines, and single-stream recycling centers, it transforms low-grade residue into profitable metal fractions.

Target Applications
Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Treatment Plants:
Recovers beverage cans, aluminum foils, and small non-ferrous fragments from the heavy fraction after primary crushing / bag opening.
Incineration Bottom Ash (IBA) Valorization:
Extracts valuable non-ferrous metals from bottom ash, maximizing resource recovery and reducing disposal costs.
Scrap Metal Recycling (Zorba Upgrading):
Purifies shredded non-ferrous mixtures (Zorba) into high-grade copper, aluminum, and magnesium for smelters.
Glass / Plastic Purification Lines:
Removes metal contaminants from crushed glass (cullet) or plastic flakes to protect downstream shredders and improve end-product purity.
Key Advantages for Heavy-Duty Waste Streams
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Eccentric magnetic rotor with NdFeB magnets | Generates an intense, high-frequency alternating magnetic field, ejecting particles as small as 1-2mm with high precision |
| Fully sealed stainless steel rotor housing | Prevents dust, moisture, and fine abrasives from damaging internal components – ideal for dirty MSW environments |
| Variable frequency drive (VFD) control | Allows on-the-fly adjustment of rotor speed (0–4,800 RPM) to match different material densities and moisture levels |
| Heavy-duty rubber belt with impact absorption | 6-10mm thick wear-resistant belt resists punctures from broken glass, stones, and metal shards |
| Tool-free splitter baffle adjustment | Enables quick fine-tuning of separation cut point without production interruption |
Separation Efficiency Guarantee
Up to 98% recovery rate for aluminium cans (20-50mm size) and 85-92% for fine non-ferrous particles (2-10mm), verified in real MSW plants.
